27 weeks pregnant

Well...Mel's finally reached 27 weeks. Below is a picture of Mel at 26 weeks. It's been a difficult pregnancy every step of the way...but praise God baby Colin and Mel are both healthy. Mike gives Mel lots of foot rubs and back massages!
Psalm 139:13-16 For you formed my inward parts; you knitted me together in my mother’s womb. I praise you, for I am fearfully and wonderfully made.Wonderful are your works; my soul knows it very well. My frame was not hidden from you, when I was being made in secret, intricately woven in the depths of the earth. Your eyes saw my unformed substance; in your book were written, every one of them, the days that were formed for me, when as yet there was none of them. John 16:21 When a woman is giving birth, she has sorrow because her hour has come, but when she has delivered the baby, she no longer remembers the anguish, for joy that a human being has been born into the world. James 1:17 Every good gift and every perfect gift is from above, coming down from the Father of lights with whom there is no variation or shadow due to change.

CHRISTmas 2012

Last Christmas as "DINKS"! Next Christmas we'll be celebrating with our son! We had two very delightful Christmas celebrations; Christmas Eve with the Beardsley family and Christmas Day with the Green family. We enjoyed two blessed church services also! Praise God for all the blessings He has bestowed upon us! Mike surprised Mel with a set of pearl earrings and necklace!

Changes

Well, it's been a crazy Summer! Mike had a couple of tris (sprint and Olympic) and Mel raced TTs. Mike got FIRST in his AG at the Anthem Sprint Tri, Mel took 2nd GC in the Bike the Bluff Omnium, and Mel upgraded racing categories (cat 3)! Mel was finally back to racing after her rollover car accident in April!! God is good!
Mike and Mel had lots of plans for races this summer/fall/winter race season...but everything was put on hold when July 30th Mel found out she was PREGNANT (during a routine gyno examine). WOW! There are truly no words to describe Mike and Mel's shock and mixed feelings. "What a minute...this wasn't part of our 5 year plan!" But...but..."what a miracle and blessing from God!" But...but..."we aren't financially prepared!" "We had plans for racing, honeymoon, travel...this wasn't part of our plan!" Through lots of prayer and tears (from emotional mama Mel) the fear and shock turned to joy and celebration!
In October Mike and Mel were blessed with their friend's generosity and were able to spend a few days "honeymooning" in Flagstaff. Not the trip that was initially planned...but it was loads of fun anyways! Mike and Mel are very excited to welcome their blessing from God...Colin O'Donnell Green on 3/25/13.

Our first 4th of July together!! We decided to keep it low key and spend the evening at home. Our day started with a 90min. bike ride in the overcast weather...followed by a home cooked breakfast. We had lunch with my parents (delish!) and sat on their porch and watched the RAIN! Then Mike and I watched two movies and made turkey meatballs (our first time!) for dinner. We walked down the street a mile and watched the fireworks from the 2nd floor of one of the neighborhood shopping plazas. Best 4th ever :) <3

Grand Canyon!

Mike's first time at the Grand Canyon! Memorial Day weekend <3 We had such an amazing time! We spent the night in Flag, at a friend's house, and hiked Bright Angel trail on Sunday. We spent a relaxing night at Gail's house again then drove back home Monday after having breakfast at Macy's.

4.12.12 Mel's life was turned upside down, literally...

Mel and her mom were in a horrible accident- they were t-boned when a lady flew through a stop sign. Only by the grace of God...they both walked away with no broken bones. It's been a long healing process, lots of paperwork and stress, and now Mel has a new car...but praise God for good friends and family who have helped out throughout the whole process!

The proposal

My wonderful husband proposed to me on 12/1/11. We had taken the day off from work to go to Kartchner Caverns. I had told him that he better not propose to me without my dad's permission...so this was the "unofficial" proposal. The following weekend he talked to my dad, got his blessing, and we were officially engaged!! The attached pictures below are when he surprised me with my ring. We were checking out spots to hold the ceremony and he got down on one knee and gave my my beautiful ruby ring.
Well done Mr. Green!

Two become one

I married the love of my life 2/14/12 at Papago Park. We met at a group ride...my cycling buddy for life!
Below are a few pics from our wedding, dress shopping with sister, a pic of our cake, and one picture with the hotel sign in the background (Hotel San Carlos).
We had a lovely private ceremony with just family. It was a cold day but it was still beautiful! My mom, sister, and two best friends basically planned our entire wedding and reception. They gave me one amazing surprise after the other! Our dear friends Alyssa and Kyle stayed with our zoo the night of the wedding (two 75 lb boxers and two 5 lb chihuahuas). My sister serenaded me as I walked down the "aisle"...bless her heart...her hands were FREEZING!! My mom and sister did the reception, my bestie was our photographer, my other bestie was our cake maker/bouquet maker, and both besties planned my shower along with my mother and sister and a handful of dear friends. My friend Tawna decorated our hotel room, Alyssa decorated our house, and Sarah crashed the wedding ;)
It was a magical day we'll never forget!!
